Residents of St. Petersburg have the opportunity to participate in free educational workshops designed to teach them about residential composting. The City of St. Petersburg is offering these workshops as part of its Composting Program, which aims to assist single-family residential customers in reducing their environmental impact by converting kitchen and yard waste into nutrient-rich fertilizer.
The workshops are scheduled through 2026 and require prior registration. Attendees will receive a free compost bin upon completing an in-person workshop. Participants will learn about the composting process, what materials can be composted, and receive resources to aid in successful composting.
For more information on St. Pete’s Composting Program, including workshop dates and registration details, residents can visit www.stpete.org/Composting. Questions regarding the program can be sent to composting@stpete.org.
Additionally, information on other sustainable practices such as recycling, solar panels, and water conservation is available at www.stpete.org/Sustainability.
